Our board plays a strong governance role and comprises of five diverse and
extremely successful business leaders across several industries.
Mark Giles is the chairman of the board. Mark is highly regarded within the ICT industry and has over 30 years experience in international sales and marketing.
He has served on a number of board, including Vodafone New Zealand and Alcatel, and is also serving as an independent director on several New Zealand boards - Compac Holdings Ltd, Eastpack Limited, Independent Timber Merchants and current Chairman of Techspace Consulting Ltd.
Selwyn Pellet serves as an independent director and is the CEO of Coretex. Selwyn has worked in the electronics industry in New Zealand, Australia and Asia for over 20 years, with over a decade of experience focused on the network security and telematics markets.
Selwyn has extensive experience in international sales, marketing, strategic planning and supply chain management from small start-ups through to multi-billion dollar corporations. Known as a serial entrepreneur, Selwyn was co-founder and CEO of Imarda as well as co-founder, CEO and Chairman of kiwi success story Endace, New Zealand’s first registered company to list on the UK’s AIM stock market.
Donna Marris is an experienced executive with a career spanning the financial markets, media, not-for-profit and consumer products industries. For the last five years, Donna has been a member of the executive team of NZX listed company Trilogy in marketing/brand and new product development roles.
Donna’s experience prior to this included executive positions in the not-for-profit sector, strategic management roles in the television media industry and 10 years in varied roles in the financial markets in NZ, Australia and the United Kingdom. Donna currently has management responsibility for the Marris Family investments which span across telematics, large format retail/residential development and viticultural properties.
Donna has an MBA and postgraduate degree in marketing from the University of Cranfield, United Kingdom.
John Walley is an experienced shareholder, director, manager and technologist with significant international experience in strategy, technology, product development, operations and intellectual property management.
John was previously a business development and engineering director at Gallagher, a director of Industrial Research, Stabi-Craft Marine, and chair of Canterprise, Nanotechnology Devices and Prolificx. John was Chief Executive of the New Zealand Manufacturers and Exporters Association until March 2015.
Currently, in addition to being a director at Imarda, he is a director and shareholder of Powerhouse, and a Chair and shareholder of Horotane Investments and ProActive Software.
Brooke Bone is a Portfolio Manager with a particular emphasis on special situations for Milford’s Funds, including non-listed opportunities. Brooke previously worked for Macquarie Securities in New Zealand as a Senior Research Analyst covering a variety of sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, mining and oil and gas.
Brooke was ranked as one of the top three analysts in a number of INFINZ awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Prior to joining Macquarie, Brooke was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley in London, covering Pan-European retail companies.
Brooke also worked for the corporate finance and property team of Marks and Spencer in the UK and as a management consultant for Cap Gemini. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young. Brooke is a CFA Charterholder.
The board is supported with a highly skilled and experienced leadership team,
responsible for managing and executing the business strategy.
Dave served as Air-Trak’s President and CEO, and led the sales and marketing as well as overseeing the overall operation. Dave also held several other leadership roles within the industry - Tranzeo USA, Sensoria Corporation, Rockwell Semiconductor Systems and Brooktree Corporation.
Cameron was with Imarda since 2007 and held the position of Director of Software Engineering at Imarda and, overall, has over 30 years has worked in several other leadership positions in the ICT industry.
Craig has had a significant career based in the transportation and telematics industry. He is a co-founder of ITHL and was responsible for establishing the ITHL business in North America and has been a key leader in driving the strong dealer expansion and sales growth. Prior to this, Craig had a 14-year career with ExxonMobil in various leadership roles across the US, Asia and New Zealand.
Dean co-founded ITHL in 2005 and has been instrumental in its growth to date. He was President of Australasia from 2007 to 2014, and moved to Denver Colorado in mid-2014 to drive expansion and sales growth into the distributor network. Prior to ITHL Dean had 10 years at ExxonMobil running a number of distribution facilities as well as having his own successful automotive services business.
Akinyemi is a pragmatic technology pioneer and experienced Solutions Architect. With over 15 years in the IT sector, Akinyemi is experienced at championing technology and architectural roadmaps and strategies, designing and leading complex engineering projects, and promoting innovation in highly skilled teams.
As CTO of Coretex, Akinyemi leads our team of hardware, software and firmware engineers to develop and integrate world-class telematics solutions to satisfy our customer's unique requirements.
These teams are supported by centralised corporate highly talented ‘functional’ experts
driving corporate functions (including compliance) to optimise efficiencies.
Ben Martel is our Chief Science Officer. Ben Martel co-founded ITHL and now leads Coretex’s development team and product roadmap through the company’s research and development group. Prior to ITHL, Ben worked at Woosh Wireless, consulting on wireless VoIP implementation and technology deployment, where he engineered New Zealand’s first cellular VoIP deployment. Ben has also worked with TelstraClear, and overseas with organisations including Schitag Ernst & Young.
Tracey Herman is our Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Tracey is responsible for Coretex’s financial management and oversees Coretex’s global financial function. She has a wealth of commercial financial experience in both technology and international companies. Tracey is the former CFO of Imarda, and prior to that role, Tracey was a commercial manager for Television New Zealand (New Zealand’s largest broadcasting company).
